Mr Kailani is a Consultant Ophthalmologist at King's College Hospital with expertise in Glaucoma Cataract and refractive surgery. He completed his fellowships at the Western Eye Hospital (Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust) and St.Thomas’ Hospital in London.  He has published and presented his research internationally.

He read medicine at Guy’s, King’s and St.Thomas’ School of Medicine. He received a research scholarship at King’s College London during his Bachelor’s degree in Physiology and graduated with honours in 2007.

He completed the competitive academic foundation training at the Royal Free Hospital and received Merits from both King's College London and University College London for the medical student teaching programme he developed during his time there.

He completed his surgical ophthalmology training at King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, Epsom and St.Helier University Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital Trust. He is a certified laser refractive surgeon  and his sub-specialist interests include Cataract surgery, Glaucoma, Minimally Invasive surgery (MIGS).

When not in the operating theatre he enjoys learning languages, chess and is a certified open-water PADI Diver with an Eye for photography!
